Funding opportunities, key dates and upcoming CPA activities
1. Apply | Commonwealth Parliamentarians with Disabilities Capital Investment Fund 2026
The Commonwealth Parliamentarians with Disabilities (CPwD) Capital Investment Fund was established by the CPA Secretariat to support initiatives aimed at improving accessibility within CPA Member Parliaments for persons with disabilities.
The Fund supports projects including but not limited to improving physical accessibility of parliamentary buildings and the procurement of assistive technologies.
For 2026, the total Fund allocation is £100,000 GBP, from which CPA Branches may apply for up to £10,000 GBP per individual project.

2. Invitation for Contributions | The Parliamentarian – 2026, Issue One
The CPA Secretariat has announced that “The Parliamentarian – 2026, Issue One” is now open for contributions from CPA Branches and Members.
The Parliamentarian is the official quarterly journal of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA). It serves as a leading forum for parliamentary insight across the Commonwealth, featuring expert commentary, analysis and reporting on governance, legislative developments and comparative parliamentary practice.
The journal provides an important platform for Members of Parliament, parliamentary officials and experts to share experiences, strengthen parliamentary practices and promote democratic values across the Commonwealth.
Themes for the current issue include:
(i) Artificial Intelligence, Disinformation and Parliaments
(ii) Human Rights in the Commonwealth
(iii) How Commonwealth Parliamentarians can maximize the potential of the Commonwealth
In view of the importance of highlighting parliamentary experiences from the Asia Region, CPA Asia Region Branches are encouraged to contribute articles reflecting legislative initiatives, reforms and best practices from their respective Parliaments.
Deadline for submission 9th February 2026
Branches are requested to share their contributions within the stipulated timeframe to facilitate timely compilation and onward transmission to the CPA Secretariat.
