The Commonwealth Parliamentarian of the Year 2025 Awards have been announced at the 68th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference in Barbados. From the CPA Asia Region, Hon. Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan, Speaker of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab, Pakistan, achieves the 2025 Parliamentarian of the Year Award recognition of his transformational leadership. He has revolutionised parliamentary governance in his Legislature by instituting unprecedented reforms that strengthen transparency, accountability and legislative independence.

His key initiatives include the first major overhaul of the Rules of Procedure in decades, enhanced committee oversight powers, live-streaming of Assembly proceedings, and comprehensive digitization of legislative records—setting new standards for open and effective governance in the Asia Region.
