The CPA Asia Regional Executive Committee met on the sidelines of the 69th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference (CPC) in Cape Town, South Africa, chaired by Hon. Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan and Chairperson of the CPA Asia Regional Executive Committee.

The Committee considered a range of matters relating to the activities and development of the CPA Asia Region, including the resumption of Bangladesh’s participation, rotation of the Regional Chair, regional representation on the CPA International Executive Committee, and institutional strengthening initiatives.
Members also discussed the CPA Asia Regional Fund, CPA Asia Democracy Award, and the 2027–2028 Calendar of Activities, including forthcoming regional conferences and parliamentary programmes.
The meeting reaffirmed the commitment of CPA Asia Regional Branches to strengthening parliamentary cooperation, dialogue and collaboration across the Region.
