The Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) Executive Committee met in Cape Town on 17 September 2026, on the sidelines of the 69th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference (CPC).

During the meeting, Ms. Suriya Bibi, Deputy Speaker of the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, was nominated as a member of the CPA International Executive Committee from the Asia Region, replacing Ms. Farah Azeem Shah, MPA, Provincial Assembly of Balochistan. Ms. Suriya Bibi will serve for the next three CPC terms.

The meeting, chaired by Hon. Dr Christopher Kalila, MP, Chairperson of the CPA Executive Committee, considered various governance matters, future activities and institutional priorities of the Association.
